أولونغ أوسمانثوس

Brewed this while reading yesterday evening and the osmanthus petals really do carry through — that floral sweetness lingers nicely without turning soapy, and the citrus hint peeks out as it cools. I’ve already reordered, this one’s a keeper.

The medium roast gives it just enough body to hold up to the floral petals, and the citrus note comes through on the finish without being sharp. I’ve been brewing it gongfu style and the aroma carries through to the third steep, which is more than I expected.

The osmanthus scent is woven through every steep, not just the dry leaves, and it keeps that citrusy oolong sweetness going for three infusions at least. I've been brewing it lighter with cooler water and the floral side really comes forward without any bitterness.
